Just saw Lesley Stahl's piece on the rise in gun sales and the reasons why. Well, it shouldn't be a big mystery for anyone; anytime American citizens feel that there is a real looming threat to do away with the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bare arms they go and exercize that right by legally purchasing and possessing firearms.Since last September that exact threat was becoming all too real and gun sales sky-rocketed. Even those who normally support the right for others to legally own firearms but who would not purchase a gun themselves are now doing just that. The election of 2008 brought to the fore front the extreme leftwing of the Democratic Party; Chuck Schumer, Diane Finestein, along with President Obama have all come out to make anti-gun ownership statements which has done nothing but to radicalize the gunownership debate and fuel the explosion in gun sales. To make things worse, CBS portrays the lawful ownership of a firearm as the root cause to gun violance in America.
