Actress Kate Linder studied theater arts at San Francisco State University before launching her onscreen career, making small appearances on shows like Archie Bunker's Place and Bay City Blues. In 1982, Linder joined the cast of the daytime soap The Young and the Restless in the role of Esther Valentine.
