07/03/09 Michaela Davis is no longer a struggling musician.

The 12-year-old Shawnee girl recently had her dreams come true when Briarcliff Village ? a shopping and dining center in Kansas City, North ? stepped up to fund the gig of a lifetime.

As part of its "Adopt a Rocker" program, the shopping center has adopted Michaela and will send her to play on the ShipRocked Cruise, where she will perform with renowned rock bands such as Queensryche, Tesla, and Skid Row in November.

While Michaela and her band were thrilled to be selected for the gig, they have to pay their own way through diligent fundraising.

Michaela, who will start the eighth grade at Monticello Trails Middle School this fall, is a bass player in the Paul Green School of Rock "House Band," which is composed of 10 young musicians at the performance-based, classic rock music school in Kansas City.

Briarcliff Village chose Michaela for the honor because of her personal story.

05/29/09 i beg to differ... kris was a star he just came on slower than adam... in the end he may not of had "kelly clarkston or prez hilton" but who cares he had support form artist and formal idols like chris daughtry who repetaly made it clear he was a kris allen fan he made comments on his twitter and on interviews... he also had support from david cook and david archi... and countless others like the person he sang with keith urban who said he was a kris man so get your facts strait before you say he had no star power and that none of the "stars" knew him like the stars are all that matters... his fans matter those of us who are not famous and love to hear HIS music... which is not to say adam isnt good cuz he is... and if you are an adam fan he would be sad to hear you say kris isnt a star cuz adam has respect for kris and thinks he is talented and deserves the title just as kris does for adam Posted by kcolton at 10:57 AM : May 29, 2009 + report abuse + permalink sorry for all of the horrible grammar in my previous post. shameful. i was rushing, but that won't happen again!! :)  |  TheShowBuzz
