Biography: Michelle Ryan
Pop culture devotees will most commonly associate crimson-haired British actress Michelle Ryan with two accomplishments: her portrayal of Suzy, the ex-girlfriend of Ben (Sean Biggerstaff) in Sean Ellis' quirky, erotic nocturnal comedy Cashback (2006); and, more famously, Ryan's resuscitation of Jamie Sommers in the late 2007 NBC revamp of the 1970s adventure drama The Bionic Woman. Series producers altered the setup of that program ever so slightly -- changing Sommers' initial "accident" from a sky-diving incident to a brutal car crash -- but otherwise left the premise generally untouched. That same year, Ryan accepted roles in two key features: Flick and I Want Candy. The former constitutes a British horror picture about a psychotic, rampaging 1950s rock 'n' roll rebel, the latter a smarmy sex comedy about a couple of college students who get in over their head when attempting to produce a porno film with a sleazy starlet (Carmen Electra) as their lead. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
