Biography: Dave Annable
The overwhelmingly genial, dark-haired American actor Dave Annable gained recognition in the mid-2000s for his high-profile involvement in two series. As one of his first assignments, Annable signed on as the lead character, Aaron, in the teen drama/murder mystery series Reunion (2005). The program explored occurrences in the lives of twenty former high school friends from 1986 through 2005 - and recounted events leading up to the murder of one of the major characters. Unfortunately, it folded not long after it premiered, the victim of low ratings. Annable fared infinitely better (yet received slightly lower billing) on the prime-time ensemble drama Brothers & Sisters (2006), starring Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Patricia Wettig and Balthazar Getty. That soaper - which resembled a thinly-veiled update of Knots Landing - concerned the trials and travails befalling one extended California family; Annable played Justin, a psychologically-damaged Afghan war veteran. Brothers & Sisters encountered mediocre reviews on par with Reunion when it premiered in September 2006 (Variety termed it "flaccid") but drew favorable ratings, presumably thanks in no small part to that cast. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
