Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

12. 'Open Arms' by Journey

Votefortheworst.com and AOL Television compiled this list of the 12 most annoying and overdone songs ever performed on 'Idol.'
Why We've Heard Enough: Yes, we know -- Randy Jackson was the bass player for Journey. As if he doesn't bring it up enough, whenever anyone sings this song, he starts babbling unintelligibly and cheering for the Dawg Pound ... Oh wait, he does that anyway.

11. 'Superstition' by Stevie Wonder

Why We've Heard Enough: At this point, most of Wonder's collection has been performed on the show, and it's getting a little tired. The strangest performance was Bucky Covington's countrified version of this song in season five.

10. 'Let's Stay Together' by Al Green

Why We've Heard Enough: As if four mediocre performances of this song weren't enough, it's also been covered by Michael Bolton and Tina Turner and even turned up on last year's travesty, 'America's Got Talent.'

9. 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' by Queen

Why We've Heard Enough: Fantasia performed the song during big band week (even though it's not a big band song) and Taylor Hicks tried to kick over his mic stand (and missed) during his eccentric version.

8. 'I'm Every Woman' by Chaka Khan

Why We've Heard Enough: Every diva wannabe wanting to show off her vocal chops has covered this song. It truly wasn't an entertaining tune to start, then Oprah made it her theme song, and now it's getting a third, undeserved life.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

7. 'One Last Cry' by Brian McKnight

Why We've Heard Enough: The "one last cry" that the contestants are singing about never comes. If only they'd listen to the lyrics: "It's hard to put you outta my mind this time" -- especially if we hear it every year.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

6. 'I Believe I Can Fly' by R. Kelly

Why We've Heard Enough: Even if we overlook the obvious jokes about R. Kelly's inappropriate home life, this song is from a movie where Michael Jordan plays basketball with Bugs Bunny. Suddenly the song seems less inspirational and more overdramatic and banal.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

5. 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' by Stevie Wonder

Why We've Heard Enough: Yes, it's another Stevie Wonder song. If they don't stop the overabundance soon, the show will have killed off an artist's entire music library by overexposing it.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

4. 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' by Elton John

Why We've Heard Enough: Elton John has decades worth of hits, but year after year, the contestants only want to sing this one tune. Let's make a deal then: I won't let the sun go down on you if you let the sun go down on this song.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

3. 'I Have Nothing' by Whitney Houston

Why We've Heard Enough: The only possible runner-up to the plethora of Stevie Wonder songs would be Whitney Houston songs -- especially those from 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

2. 'Unchained Melody' by The Righteous Brothers

Why We've Heard Enough: Cue awful singer who says, "I heard 'Unchained Melody' is Simon's favorite song." Cue terrible singing. Cue Simon using a thesaurus to look up 10 definitions for hideous.

Top 12 Most Annoying Songs

1. 'Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)' by Phil Collins

Why We've Heard Enough: This song has been performed five times during the finals. Every contestant is just struggling to survive against all odds, and they need your votes. Take a look at them now. Please.
