Crying Girl Ashley Ferl is back! The season 6 sensation, who bawled during Sanjaya Malakar's performance of 'You Really Got Me,' was one of 11,000 hopefuls who auditioned for 'American Idol''s upcoming ninth season on Tuesday.
The audition took place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, says Access Hollywood -- a likely site of even more tears as Ferl, now 16-years-old, failed to make it past the first round.
No word on whether she sang 'Cry Me a River.'
The Sanjaya Hair Chronicles
Look 1: 'Wavy Wallop'
This is how Sanjaya's hair looked when we first met him. It was reminiscent of a young David Cassidy.

Look 2: 'M.J. Marvel'
Sanjaya donned a fedora for his performance of the jazz standard 'Stepping Out.' But the look fell flat, and he ended up looking like a low-rent Michael Jackson impersonator.

Look 3: 'Straight & Simple'
He spent some quality time with a flat iron before taking the stage to sing 'Waiting on the World To Change.' Frankly, we were waiting on Sanjaya's hair to change.

Look 4: 'Shirley Temple Surprise'
Sanjaya raised the bar with this jaw-dropping 'do. But the curled locks were just the thing to attract the judges' attention away from his performance.

Look 5: 'Farrah Fawcett Flip'
Since everything retro is new again, Sanjaya made the clever move of invoking the style of '70s siren Farrah Fawcett. She made those winged swoops a national phenomenon.

Look 6: 'Mohawk / Faux-Hawk / Pony-Hawk'
It's his piece de resistance -- seven strategically placed ponytails, sprayed and teased to death until they achieve miraculous heights.

Look 7: 'Greased Lightning'
For a night of jazz classics, Sanjaya slicked back and suited up in a painfully obvious attempt to look more sophisticated.

Look 8: 'Bandana Badness'
On country night, Sanjaya really gave us 'Something to Talk About.' He went for the "down-home look," while singing the Bonnie Raitt classic. But the song fell flat, and the hair couldn't save him. Sanjaya's 'Idol' reign came to an end, closing the book on his "Hair Chronicles."
